Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What size mowers do you use?

Answer: We typically will use a 36 inch stand behind mower and a smaller 21 inch walk behind for harder to reach areas in order to prevent scalping. On larger or flatter lawns we may use a 48 inch or 52 inch deck mower.

Question: How will I be billed and what forms of payment are accepted?

Answer: You will receive an invoice either by email or regular mail after the service is completed on your property. Some services will require payment at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, and credit/debit cards. We invoice on the 1st and 15th of each month. Each client is given a client user name and password, which allows you to pay and access all your account information online.

Question: What do you do with the grass clippings?

Answer: The grass clippings are recycled into the lawn with a mulching kit. Grass clippings are rich in nitrogen and keep your lawn looking its best! Bagging the clippings can be done upon request but we highly recommend recycling the clippings back into the lawn.

Question: What height do you cut at?

Answer: Each grass type requires a different height but unless otherwise requested by the client, we always cut as high as we can for the grass type. This prevents weeds and helps maintain a healthy lawn!

Question: Do you cut my lawn the same day each week? What if it rains?

Answer: If it is a light rain we will still make every possible effort to keep you on your scheduled day. However, your lawns appearance and health are important to us. If weather conditions do not permit mowing we will mow the next dry day to prevent rutting. Also, if your scheduled for later in the week and it rains early in the week we may still be a day behind the entire week due to weather at the start of the work week. The normal schedule will resume the following work week.

Question: How often do you cut my lawn?

Answer: We typically cut weekly during the growing season (March - November or December depending on your lawn type). This ensures we only cut 1/3 of the grass blade and will keep your lawn healthy and looking it's best! Of course if the summer heat is stressing your lawn and it's not growing it will not be cut and you will not be charged.

Question: How often are your mower blades sharpened?

Answer: Blades are checked for sharpness daily and sharpened as needed.

Question: How do you remove the leaves from my lawn?

Answer: We use a variety of methods depending on the needs of the lawn and quantity of leaves. The use of a leaf vacuum, bagging with a mower, or back pack blower are just a few ways we remove leaves.
